Project Title: Shimanto Eco-Lodge Facility

Client: Japan Railroad Shikoku

GSDConsultants, Mr. Takatoshi Ishiguro, a green architect and engineer, was engaged by the Japan Railroad Shikoku to help design the Eco Lodge Shimanto. Located near one of Japan's purest rivers, the project was a sensitive one. The local government of Nakamura City and Japan Railroad Shikoku wanted the resort developed in an environmentally benign way. Mr. Ishiguro organized and led the coalition of owners, planners, architects, engineers, construction companies and local workers in the design and building of this highly regarded and acclaimed "best practice."
